We're based in Waltham Abbey, locally between Cheshunt and Enfield, and serve Loughton, Chingford, and including Barnet test centre for all your driving instructor training needs. We offer quality in-vehicle training, from Standards Check in-car developmental training, to ORDIT preparation and "everything instructing" in the convenience of your own home using Zoom meeting for sign off and clarification.

I am involved in the driver improvement schemes on the behalf of local and national police forces delivering road safety courses to educate drivers as an alternative to prosecution. This is widely to re-educate drivers about road risk. Around this I spend most of my time assisting those seeking a change of career to become an approved driving instructor or re-train in preparation for their Standards Check.

In addition to this, I assist existing ADI's in becoming ORDIT (“the train the trainer”) role by preparing those for their DVSA inspection to become ORDIT. This provides coaching and ongoing development to those training to become a a fully approved driving instructor. Many trainers often run their own driving school franchisee, whom may have many PDI’s on their books that need training in preparation for their ADI 3 exam. This has helped me gain good people skills, understanding behaviour and changing attitudes to assist those who also want to make a positive contribution to CPD and road safety as a whole.

All training offered is align with the DVSA National Standards for Driver and Rider Training syllabus, and marked against your own performance and development plan. All training offered is in a client-led fashion suited to the specific needs of the client and training requirements.

About the ORDIT Scheme ORDIT was set up by the (DVSA) Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency with the backing of major driving schools, and the support of the DIA Driving Instructor Association, MSA Motoring Schools Association and NJC, National joint Council of ADI’s to regulate and evidence standards of training providers to ensure that training is of the highest of standards to prevent those that are not ORDIT from providing substandard ADI training to the public wishing to gain entry on to the ADI register. Everything should be transparent to the customer, this means good record keeping of trainee development plans and a complaints procedure can be launched if necessary, oppose to training with a non-ORDIT registered trainer.

The benefits of becoming part of the ORDIT scheme, is that in my very own opinion it gives PDI trainees a piece of mind and reassurance that their trainer had met the required standard to be entered on to the ORDIT register. With this in mind, the DVSA list only ORDIT registered trainers on the listed on the Gov.uk website an an official registered "train the trainer" so that you can be visible when those wanting to join the ADI industry are at their very first steps! In addition to this, the DVSA only recommend ORDIT registered trainers for those who are looking for further development to increase their chances of qualifying for all three parts of the ADI qualifying process.

Becoming a fully qualified ORDIT instructor trainer couldn’t be any easier with Option2drive DITAC (Driving Instructor Training and Coach).

You MUST have achieved a grade "A" on your last Standards Check before you can apply.

Highly focused on developing and building upon existing knowledge, before introducing driving lesson subjects Supported with additional learning materials for each in-car training session you complete Mapped against your own individual learning plan and progress record Reflective of both the DVSA requirements and the establishments commitment to improving road safety After passing the DVSA ORDIT inspection, you'll be entered on to the ORDIT register, provided with an application form in which you can apply for your trainer badge. Your coach (trainer) – local to your area, will prepare you for a 1-hour consolidation assessment prior to inspection (test), again usually via online platform, or in-car training, and provide you with everything you need to know about the DVSA inspection and testing criteria, going over all relevant documentation to ensure ORDIT code of practices are adhered too, to the highest of standards where possible. This part can be done using a variety of study resources, and other supporting materials which you can find of benefit. You can arrange the DVSA inspection (test) when you're ready by visiting Gov.uk, and downloading the relevant application form, "Official Register of Driving Instructor Training" (ORDIT) Trainer Application". Your dedicated coach (trainer) will provide time with you to ensure standards are fully met, either by online virtual classroom sessions or in-car training or a combination. Usually 2 hours of support for this part. You will be provided with underpinning knowledge and understanding to create an effective learning environment, so you are able to deliver a structured syllabus which is align to the National Standards for Driver and Rider Training.

All training provided is a minimum of 2 hourly sessions, instead of one hour slots. This is to provide quality and effective evaluation of performance standards. This isn't achievable on one hour sessions, therefore we do not encourage hourly sessions on and on our ORDIT efficient programs.

How the Scheme Works

ORDIT is assessed by the DVSA every 3/4 years to ensure that the "train the trainer" meets the required standard to remain on the ORDIT register. It demonstrates that the trainer has met all the competencies to train or re-train those seeking development, or just looking to refresh their existing skills.

Assessment Criteria

(ADI) Part 1, 2 and 3: Purchase the full training suite (package), for as little as £1714 when you pay in advance for your training, and receive work books, evaluation and progress reports, including recommended ADI resources and other benefits. NB: Registration and test fees are not included in the training package.
